Overcast throughout the day, with threats of thunder. Dead calm until noon light wind afternoon. Water temperature at 66F.
Chuck, went out and worked the weed beds for them pike all up and down the east side of the lake. He “caught three, but landed two” 33”,36” and the “one that got away, must have been at least 50 inches, like the one on your dining hall wall.” He is referring to a 49 ½ “ pike caught by Paul Kuhn last year around this time. He will work the weeds again tomorrow.
I was out with Mike, and his brothers and had success fishing the sand flats, Ferrit bay and jacks hump, We went thru about 14 dozen minnows and about the same in crawlers.
Likely about 3- 400 walleye. biggest was 26 a few 24 and 23. Quite a few nice fat 17 inchers.
Had a pike come and grab a walleye, got some good views as it hit 3 or 4 times beside the boat.

1200 Walleye - Ontario Red Lake Fishing Report

8/13
Showers throughout the day, with mild winds from the East and water temperature at 65F.
The Anderson group and Reynolds group had a total of about 1200 walleye and a couple dozen pike. They are departing today, see ya next year. The other 12 from their group arrived today together there were 19 in the party. They spent the day drifting from the peninsula right behind camp all across the middle of north bay. They caught fish literally all over the whole bay. The 12 new guys estimated over 2000 fish. I went out with the kids and anchored in 15 feet of water off of the peninsula and we had doubles almost constantly with triples, quads and even had six fish on at one time - there were 7 of us. In an hour we caught well over 150 fish.

Here is something you don't see everyday Ontario Red Lake Fishing Report

Came across this fellow yesterday on the lake
notice anything unusual??

how about now?

I'm sure you've heard stories about this type of thing.
No it really doesn't have that much of a story.
Just Dennis taking his boat home.
Rene thought it would be easiest to leave it on the trailer until we get to the other side of the lake then just haul it across and back in the river again.
Turns out he was right and it made good photos to boot.
8/10
Clear skies in the am, mild overcast by the afternoon. Humid day today, temperature at 85 F and water temp at 72F. Great day for a dip out in the lake. Little to no winds with some chop out on the lake.

August 1-7 Family get together- Ontario Red Lake Fishing Report

Many families get together here at Anglers Kingdom
This week it was Debra's side of our family visiting, relaxing and fishing.

Debras mom, dad, sister and brother with their children and spouses.

A good deal of fun was had by all.
And of course a few nice fish were caught.
Left camp at noon for shorelunch caught lunch for 18 in about an hour. Several big eyes with em.
Set up GG GV and Dan behind Wolf Island to get out of the wind and they caught well over a hundred for their efforts. Worms on a jig worked well except for GiGi who needed his live "individually named" minnows in order to catch fish. With the amount of time spent caring for those precious few minnows you would think that each was a family pet??!!?? Took Hank and Joanne with Kristina to Greens narrows and A big pike grabbed Kristinas walleye. We managed to land her and take her picture. After supper I went out with the guys and caught about 70 in an hour. On Sunday we caught about 100 in North Bay.

Here's a few photos.
Will post more asap

Here are a few photos from this time last yr ( 2009)

John and Peter went out toward pike alley and brought in about 50, and a few pike, using spinner rigs and jig heads with gulp alive.

Myron Stevenson and his group had about 100 walleye fishing out on the flats, using crawlers.
Myron was very complimentary on the camp and the lake. He phrased it as " a great lake to fish. If you were a golfer this is the type of lake you would enjoy". Which begs for the note that Red Lake does have a great 18 hole golf course that guests can enjoy perhaps on the day before or after their visit.
Myron went on to say the the lake" has everything, sand, mud or rock flats, both deep or shallow. LOTS of structure."
Myron also complimented our committment to guests enjoyement both on the water and in camp.
"The boats are great, the beds comfortable , and the food more than expected."
Myron had a lot more good stuff to say but most of you already know that.

He had some good photos that we will post asap

WHEN PETE LEONOVITZ BOOKED THEIR 2ND TRIP FOR 2010 (and 5th total) PETE NOTED

Massive walleye over 30 inches - Ontario Red Lake Fishing Report

Oh, no, no, no
Great day gentle winds from the West
fishing was a bit slow in the morning
fish were biting very light.
by noon they were up and at em.
Most were in 18-20 feet.

Then Dennis Kellner "the Walleye Wizard" pulled out a Massive Walleye over 30 inches.
Dennis caught a Goliath 32 incher in North Bay two years ago but this fish was thicker and heavier.
A truly marvelous trophy Walleye.
Not many people have caught two walleye of this size.

Hayden and I fished the hump in north bay and had quite a few doubles.
that slowed down and we went over by the island in north bay.
I got some good pics and video footage of a Pike eating a walleye.
